Tibet's main hospital upgraded
A launching ceremony was held for the new outpatient building of Tibet People's Hospital in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region on May 2, 2012.
Dekyi, deputy chairman of Tibet, made a speech at the ceremony with other officials and people in charge attending.
It is reported that the central government invested a total of 30 million yuan (4.78 million U.S. dollars) in the building, which covers 6,631 square meters, and the hospital raised 6 million yuan (0.96 million U.S. dollars) to decorate its operation rooms and purchase office furniture as well as medical facilities.
The construction, which was started on April 29, 2011, adopted the design-construction overall contract, controlling the construction investment and ensuring its quality and time limit, according to Hu Xuejun, president of the hospital.
Because of its advanced design ideas, the hospital is equipped with modern facilities to offer better medical care, thus it is praised as a "modern outpatient building" by president officials.
With its operation, the hospital will further strengthen and regulate its management to improve medical services, said Hu.
People travel to Tibet also could get there, if you feel unconfortable.
