Known as roof of "Roof of the World", Ngari Prefecture of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region recently opened its first village mobile shop as a step to ease the daily shopping inconvenience of the locals. It also good for people travel to Tibet.
The shop was opened in a village of Hor township of Burang County of the prefecture by the Tibetan branch of China Mobile, the country's largest mobile operator.
Investing a total of 120,000 RMB for the opening of the shop, China Mobile also bought freight trucks for the village.
The shop, covering an area of over 50 square meters, sells around 120 kinds of goods, such as motorcycle parts, daily supplies, snacks and toys.
The locals were employed as salespersons.
Goods in the mobile shop are 10% cheaper than those in other shops for the shop buys goods directly from manufactures in Lhasa, without any middleman.
Besides the daily service for the neighboring locals, the shop also delivers goods to pastoral areas, providing service to herdsmen.
