Traveling 'Green Channel' Opens
Lhasa opened "green channel" service for tourists last Friday to simplify and speed up the related traveling procedures and to improve market order, according to information from the Lhasa Tourism Bureau.
Well-known as "city of sunshine" and as a capital city on world's highest plateau in Tibet, China, Lhasa has been making efforts to build sound traveling environment to better serve tourists from across the world.
The local Tourism Bureau and Police Office will join hands in checking the information of traveling groups, and provide convenient transportation and economic accommodation.
The "green channel" service will on the one hand simplify the procedures and save time for applicants, and on the other hand help to crack down the illegal tourism-related activities, such as providing accommodation, cabs, and guiding with exorbitant price so as to improve market order.
According to introduction, the local police, together with the Tibet travel Bureau, will also disseminate traveling brochures and other publicity materials to provide safer and more convenient information for tourists.
