200 bikes for tourists in Lhasa

In order to help travelers enjoy a wonderful tour in Tibet, 26 police stations offer 200 bikes for tourists in Lhasa. Tourists can borrow these bicycles at famous tourist sites in Lhasa and some busy streets, such as in front Lhasa department store and Lhasa No.1 Primary School, Sera Square, Deji Road and so on.

If you are touring in Lhasa city and fail to call a taxi during the peak tourism time of Lhasa, you can borrow a bike from a nearby police station by paying a deposit of 400 CNY and filling a table. You must return the bike to the police station within 3 hours. It is really very convenient for travelers in Lhasa.

Actually, enjoying a cycling tour in Lhasa is a wonderful experience. There are many tourist sites in Lhasa city, such as Jokhang Temple, Potala Palace, Ramoche Monastery and Norbulingka. 3 hours is enough for you to cycle to visit these places. They are close to each other, so walking to these sites is also possible.

If you want to try a longer ride to suburb Lhasa to appreciate the natural beauty of Lhasa, you can rent a bike in Lhasa city. There are several bicycle-rental stores in Lhasa city. Generally, the price for renting a bike is 5CNY per hour, 15-20CNY per day for a normal bike and 50-60CNY per day for a mountain bike.

In recent years, Tibet cycling tour has become a popular way to explore Tibet. Tourists can not only visit ancient monasteries and historical sites on the way, but also some remote Tibetan villages and Tibetan families.
