Namtso International Hiking Meeting to be Held in August

The 7th Namtso International Hiking Meeting will be held in August in 2012, starting from August 13 and lasting for seven days. The theme of this hiking meeting is “enjoyably walking among scared mountains and by holy lakes”.

As the Namtso international trekking meeting is held during the famous Shoton Festival in Tibet, the activities are various and funny. Environment protection and charity are still the key purpose of the hiking meeting. Volunteers support local environment protecting and charity activities by their own ways.

Participants will trek around the heavenly lake Namtso and then participate in various special activities like camping and enjoying a camp-fire party by the lake, donating books to local schools and taking part in the open ceremony of 2012 Shoton Festival. Of course, viewing the wonderful landscapes and exploring the mysterious culture of Tibet is absolutely necessary for them.
