A tourist train to Lhasa from Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi Province, made its debut on May 29. This tourist train to Lhasa starts every four days in June, July and August of 2012.

Amazing Scenery of Tibet

In order to preserve the natural environment and tourist resources of Tibet, there is a limit on the quantity of tourists to Tibet each year. With the operation of the world’s highest railway, Qinghai-Tibet Railway, traveling to Tibet by train is very popular and even becomes a lifetime journey for many travelers. But it is hard to get a train ticket to Lhasa during the peak tourist season of Tibet（May-October. This tourist train from Taiyuan to Lhasa will help some tourists to make their trip to Tibet via Qinghai-Tibet Railway.

This tourist train to Lhasa can carry over 600 tourists each time to view the fabulous landscape of Tibet and experience Tibetan culture and life during the peak tourism season of Tibet.

The tourist train will leave at 22:40pm from Xining, the beginning of Qinghai-Tibet Railway, and arrive in Lhasa at 23:40pm. On the train tourists can enjoy breathtaking scenery of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

There are several other regular trains to Lhasa from Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai and other cities of Mainland China.
