400 million yuan has invested for nomad’s settlement
Tibetan area is the center of attention in China. The Chinese government is particularly concerned about the development of Tibet not only about the Tibet travel but also about the livelihood for locals such as the nomad's settlement.
With an average altitude of 4,000 meters, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau possesses main native pasture in China. According to the statistics, over one million Tibetan herders have bid farewell to their centuries-old nomadic lifestyle and settled down in towns and cities during the past few years.
China has invested 1.2 billion yuan in settlement of more than 4,000 thousands nomads in 60 alpine counties majoring in animal husbandry during the ten years from 2001 to 2011, to construct residential communities and auxiliary projects such as housing, pens, straw storages and drinking water for both people and livestock.
Tibet plans to invest 400 million yuan more in nomad’s settlement of 13.4 thousands households in the approaching five years，during the “Twelfth Five-Year” plan period of China.
With exceptional passion and outstanding leadership, Mrs. Catherine has dedicated herself to Tibet inbound tourism and China tour for 15 years. As one of the handful females who see great potential of Chinese inbound tourism, Catherine has made great contribution to promoting Tibet tourism and enhancing the employment of Tibetans and prosperity of local Tibetan community.
Over the years, she travelled overseas with Tibet Tourism Bureau many times to promote Tibet tourism. Currently, Catherine works as the marketing director of Tibet Vista, an opinion leader behind the whole team of Tibet Vista.
