Dreamlike Namsto Lake
Namsto Lake, known as "Heavenly Lake" in Tibetan language, is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet Autonomous Region and should not be missed by any traveler to Tibet. As the second largest salt lake in China and the highest lake in the world, Namtso Lake is 4,718 meters above sea level, 70 kilometers long and 30 kilometers wide, located between Tibet’s Damxung County and Palgon County, 240 kilometers away from Lhasa. Renowned as one of the most beautiful places in the Nyainqentanglha Mountain Range, Namtso Lake is a popular tourist destination and also a sacred site for pilgrims of Tibetan Buddhism.
