A multimedia digital resource covering quality Tibetan Thangka paintings of all schools, stories of King Gesar Tibetan dramas, will be input in a database, which will soon be opened to the public for information sharing,” said Ngawang Danzeng from the Tibet Autonomous Region Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, Xinhua reported.
Intangible cultural heritage is a crucial component of the profound and diversified Tibetan culture, with a group of inheritors at national or regional levels. In 2013, Tibet made great move to digitize the data of intangible cultural heritages, saving dozens of traditional cultures on the brink of extinction.
According to Ngawang Danzeng, software was also designed to record written, photographical, audiovisual and three-dimensional resources by the local cultural department.
