Die Sommerresi Deng Von Panchen
Die Sommerresi Deng Von Panchen is located in the south of Tsahihungpo Monastery, built by the 10th Panchen as a summer palace in 1954. The summer palace is a place for being away from the hot weather and having a holiday. In the past only the royals and aristocracy can enjoy it. In Tibet, Panchen has lofty status in Tibetan Buddhists.
The whole palace is decorated by precious treasures that looks very magnificent. Tibetan historical relics and classical art treasures are displayed anywhere. Among all of them, the mural on the theme of "Pagba meets with Kublai Khan" is the most exquisite one.
The palace has three gates. Before the first gate there are four painted big pillars. The outer wall is caved with aggressive beasts, dragons which are cavorting to fly and all kinds of floral designs. The colorful paintings are mainly about the auspicious clouds, fierce tigers, great dragons and the well known stories and characters in Buddhist scriptures. These paintings are very lively and exquisite. Pass the first gate there is a long and quiet pathway which is paved by red crushed stones and decorated with white stones. Entering the second gate is a quadrangle courtyard and after the third gate you will see the solemn and serene palace.
The ticket for Die Sommerresi Deng Von Panchen is 30 RMB per person. The open time is from 9 o'clock in the morning and to 18 o'clock in the afternoon. Usually the visit time is about one hour. When you have your Tibet tour, you can walking from south Tsahihungpo Monastery about 20 minutes or take a pedicab to this palace.
