The 2012 China International Tourism Fair was held in Shanghai from November 15 to November 18. Tibet’s tourism promotion in Shanghai was the most attractive.
The Tibet Autonomous Region’s tourism department, together with the tourism departments from its seven prefectures, 26 travel agencies and tourist spots, 16 starred hotels and tourism resorts, and Tibetan Airlines, was there promoting Tibetan tourism.
This year, Tibet chose "come to Tibet and experience happiness" as a promotion spotlight. More effort would be put on the promotion of winter tourism so as to attract international and domestic tourists.
By then, an exhibition stand of strong Tibetan elements was set up on the 200 square meter display area. The phenomenal and colorful Tibetan characteristics were demonstrated fully by small-scale art performances, trailers, onsite Q and A, and tourism booklets.
Tibetan delegations hit a record high this year in terms of the number of enterprises and individual participants to express their sincerity to cooperate with more inland and international counterparts.
