Tibet is preparing to hold the 8th Yarlung Zangpo Grand Canyon Cultural & Tourism Festival on October 5 in the Bayi Town, southern Tibet's Nyingchi Prefecture. Tourists can travel to Tibet in October to enjoy the stunning autumn scenery of Tibet as well as the annual tourism festival of Tibet.
"Apart from publicizing the charming scenery in Nyingchi, the festival also aims to promote low-carbon tourism for the sake of protecting the fragile environment," said Wang Jun, head of Nyingchi Tourism Bureau.
By then, tourists will feast their eyes on the attractive scenery but also take part in various outdoor activities such as agricultural and animal products trade fair and cycling around the Klu Gling.
A painting and calligraphy exhibition will be held to highlight the festival.
As the longest and deepest canyon in the world, Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon has been chosen by "National Geographic" as No.1 among the top ten most beautiful valleys in China. Some parts are still undeveloped due to their special geographical conditions, and the newly-developed tourist zone is just the entrance to the canyon.
Featuring the purest air, the most beautiful clouds, the majestic snow-covered peaks, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is now ready to embrace domestic and overseas visitors to Tibet.
