The Lhasa-based Tibet Airline is about to open another four new airlines from Mar.30 to meet the soaring demands for tickets in coming summer and autumn peak seasons, the China News Service reported.
The four airlines, which will be operated by Airbus A319, are Lhasa-Yinchuan-Beijing,Lhasa-Golum,Chongqing-Chamdo and Lhasa-Xining-Yushu.
With the development of Tibet’s society and economy, demands for tickets to Tibet are rising year by year for official, commercial and personal sigh-seeing purposes. The available cruises commuting between Lhasa and Beijing at present are all stop by in Chengdu or Chongqing except the non-stop one ran by the Air China.
The Lhasa-Yinchuan-Beijing route is not only the first flight course leaving Lhasa northwest to Beijing with stopover but also the shortest air line between the two cities, according to According to Lin Mingjing, deputy manager of the Branding Office of Tibet Airline.
Lin said the Lhasa-Golumd air shuttle, the second one between Tibet and Qinghai, would realize the win-win social and economic progresses of the two regions and be very helpful to the aid-Tibet work.
The Lhasa-Yinchuan-Beijing cruise will be available each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with four-hour flight.
In addtion, the Sichuan Airline is going to open two flight courses from Mar.31 flying between Nyingchi-Chengdu and Lhasa-Xiahe(Gansu)-Xian(Shaanxi).
Launched in 2011 in response to a surge in tourism in Tibet, the hometown-based Tibet Airline provides domestic cargo and passenger services.
