Gesar Research Center attracts overseas students in Tibet

Recently, Gesar Research Center witnesses some overseas students studying in Tibet University. Tibet University organized all overseas students to visit Gesar Research Center which is affiliated with the Institute of Tibetan Studies of Tibet University.

Tsedan Tashi, director of the Institute of Tibetan Studies, and Mr. Pasang from Gesar Research Center introduced the functions of the institute and the work done to rescue the historic Epic of King Gesar respectively. Sidar Dorje, a young minstrel of King Gesar, performed the epic for overseas students.

Overseas students watched the performance with great interest and asked the expert many questions. Most overseas students expressed that they benefited a lot from this visit and had a more profound understanding of Gesar art.

Vice president of Tibet University Changngopa Tseyang said, “I hope this visit can help overseas students understand Tibetan culture and provide a communication space for them.”
