Fascinating Holy Lakes in Tibet, Beautiful Scenary of Tibet
Photo shows the amazing scenery of Namtso Lake in Tibet. Namtso means "heavenly lake" in the Tibetan language. The lake is located between Damxung County and Palgon County, 240 kilometers away from Lhasa. It is the largest salt lake in Tibet Autonomous Region, and the second largest in China as well as the highest lake in the world.
Lake Manasarovar is the most venerated of all Tibet's many sacred lakes. It is especially sacred to Hindus, who have been walking round it for approaching 2,000 years. Buddhists associate the lake with Maya, Buddhas mother. Hindu and Buddhist cosmology had it that nearby Mt. Kailash is the centre of the world and that Manasarovar is the source of four of Asias great rivers.
Lying to the south of Yarlong Tsangpo River, the Yamdrok Lake is said to be the female Guardian of Buddhism in Tibet. People here believe that it will bless and protect them. The Yamdrok Yumtso Lake has some beautiful and vivid names like Coral Lake or Green Jade Lake. The name Coral Lake is derived from its irregular shape. This lake has many short streams winding into the nearby mountains and it appears much like the coral. The name Green Jade Lake implies its beautiful appearance for the pure clean water of the lake is as smooth as the surface of fine jade.
Famous for its beautiful scenery, Basum Lake is also the holy lake of Red Sect. Every year, thousands of adherents flood here to worship. Its name means "green water" in Tibetan Language.
With exceptional passion and outstanding leadership, Mrs. Catherine has dedicated herself to Tibet inbound tourism and China tour for 15 years. As one of the handful females who see great potential of Chinese inbound tourism, Catherine has made great contribution to promoting Tibet tourism and enhancing the employment of Tibetans and prosperity of local Tibetan community.
Over the years, she travelled overseas with Tibet Tourism Bureau many times to promote Tibet tourism. Currently, Catherine works as the marketing director of Tibet Vista, an opinion leader behind the whole team of Tibet Vista.
