On 29th May 2014, Nepal Embassy in Beijing organized a Media Interaction Program at the Embassy Hall with the objective of developing partnership with Chinese media for promoting Nepal-China cultural and economic cooperation.
Adjacent to China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, Nepal is the ideal kingdom for religious culture traveling and pilgrim travelling because all the people in the country are Buddhism believers.
In recent years, Nepal had simplified visa procedures for Chinese tourists. Chinese passport holders who took the direct bus service to Nepal could get visas at land ports in Tibet.
Data display that between January to August in 2013, the number of outgoing passengers from the Zhangmu port, Shigatse Prefecture of SW China’s Tibet Autonomous Region has reached 12,888, entry passengers reached 10,744, and both of the numbers have increased compared with the same periods in 2012.
The Zhangmu port also opens a green channel for Chinese tourists to visit Nepal. In June, 2002, Chinese citizens are officially allowed to travel to Nepal, which is the 16th destination country for Chinese people to make a self-paying traveling.
