Ticket Price to Increase at Potala Palace in May

From May 1 to Oct. 31, admissions to the Potala Palace in Lhasa will be lifted to 200 yuan (32USD) per person which is 100 (16 USD) currently, according to the administration office of the Potala Palace on April 7.
The fluctuation is aimed to keep daily tourist capacity steady within 4000 in a bid to reduce human damage to the Potala to a minimum.
It has been a customary adjustment of the Potala Palace in advent of the tourist season, and the specific starting days are not fixed.
The administration also said reservations one day ahead of the touring day are required.
The Potala Palace is the land mark of Lhasa. With a history of over 1300 years, it is reputed as the model of Tibetan architecture.
