The first snow of the year that hit Lhasa, capital city of Tibet,on Jan.12, has caused all flights delay in the Gonggar Airport that morning.
In order to remove the snow pile, the Gonggar Airport has been temporarily closed on the morning of Jan.12.
“The highway has been covered with snow, which will influence the smooth flying, so we have to close the airport for a while,” said a worker of the Gonggar Airport.
Water and lunch were provided to the passengers who were stranded in the airport.
After hours’ snow removal, the airport was resumed normal operation at 12:30 p.m.
