People in Burang, the border town with Nepal and India in Nagri Prefecture, southwest Tibet celebrate their “Burang New Year”, one of the most important festivals, on Jan. 1,2014.
“We celebrate one festival every month, everyday is like New Year to us”, said by Tibetan residents in Burang.
In addition to buy living necessities and do household cleaning, every family will change Tibetan carpets on the bed and use zanba (made by highland barley) to paint auspicious figures on the wall of the room, in order to pray for peace, harvest and good luck for the next year.
