Tourists and pilgrims who go to worship the sacred Mountain Kailash prefer to make a stopover in Hor Qu before they continue to head to Darchen for the Kailash trek. It is Manasarovar lakeside, so it is best to stay there and see the sunrise of Manasarovar lake next morning.

Purang guesthouse offers slightly better rooms with cheap wood floors, but it's not a place as friendly as the Yang-tso.

Yang-tso Guesthouse at the east end of town has a cosy teahouse and a signboard reads "White-snow Lake ZL Sunlight Guesthouse". Toilets without roof give you the most brilliant views of Gurla Mandata.
