The 4th Tibetan Tourism & Culture Festival open
Festival and events tourism is one of the hot topics and significant contents of the current development of tourism of China. It is a kind of tourism propaganda important means used by today's Tibet and it works very well. People who have Tibet travel always hope they can meet the time of local festival.
The 4th Tourism & Culture Festival opens along the famous Ancient Tea and Horse Road in eastern Tibet's Mangkang County, September 3rd.
Themed as "time-honored road, prosperous Mangkang", the festival will take on rich cultural activities, including art performances, sales exhibition, horse racing festival as well as bonfire party.
The festival is held every three years with increasing scale and reputation, and it lasts from September 3 to 5 this year.
Originated in the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.), the Ancient Tea and Horse Road was an important trading road in southwest and northwest bordering areas of ancient China, covering regions in Sichuan, Tibet and Yunan.
Renowned for its historical status, the Mangkang County boasts rich agricultural products and natural resources, especially magnificent scenery along the Lancang and Jinsha rivers.
With exceptional passion and outstanding leadership, Mrs. Catherine has dedicated herself to Tibet inbound tourism and China tour for 15 years. As one of the handful females who see great potential of Chinese inbound tourism, Catherine has made great contribution to promoting Tibet tourism and enhancing the employment of Tibetans and prosperity of local Tibetan community.
Over the years, she travelled overseas with Tibet Tourism Bureau many times to promote Tibet tourism. Currently, Catherine works as the marketing director of Tibet Vista, an opinion leader behind the whole team of Tibet Vista.
