Tibet will reopen for foreigners in April 2012
Though about one month closure, Tibet open to the foreign travelers again.
Since end of the February, Tibet had been closed to foreigners. More details click here. NowTibet travel permit starts to apply to the tourism bureau and it will reopen for foreign tourists in April after less than two months’ closure.
Unlike previous years, this year Tibet was closed from mid Feb due to some political upheaval in some area and its reopening remains questionable until hearing from Tibet Tourism Bureau. Fortunately, on Feb 23rd, TTB accepted all the travel permit applications from travel agencies and all the tour bookings restart again, though TTB hasn’t declared any information officially but some leaked information says Tibet will reopen again in April, so that awake the Tibet tourism industry from its still months and everybody restart their tourism works under a cheering climate again.
