China and Pakistan had successfully climbed Mt Spantik
China is a great country with amicable attitude when communicate with other countries. She always organizes lots of activities about teamwork to show harmony. The China-Pakistan friendship mountaineering team on Sunday successfully reached the top of the 7,027-meter Mt Spantik, dubbed the "Golden Mountain", on the Baltoro glacier of the Karakoram range.
The team started the climb on Saturday and reached 6,200 meters before the final ascent on Sunday.
The Chinese side was led by Luo Shen, director of the CMA expedition department, national mountaineering team coach Li Fuqing and five other experts.
China and Pakistan began staging joint expeditions with ascents of Mt Qomolangma (8,844 meters) and Mt Nanga Parbat (8,125 meters) in 1997. They have also reached the summits of Broad Peak (8,051 meters), Mt Qogir (8,611 meters) and Mt Gasherbrum (8,080 meters).
