Tibet plan to further economic, trade relations with Nepal

To promote the cooperation of Tibet and Nepal, the third meeting of the Economic and Trade Coordinating Committee between Nepal and China's Tibet has reached an agreement on economic and trade issues of common concern in Lhasa, capital of Tibet.

The meeting has helped promote bilateral trade and economic cooperation. Tibet plan to further economic, trade relations with Nepal.Not only for the governments but also for the people and different industries especially for the Tibet travel, the benefits seems a lot.

Nepal and China have built a friendly neighborship since thousands of years ago and it has been an important economic and trade partner of China's Tibet.

In 2011, the bilateral trade volume hit a record high of 945 million US dollars and Tibet's export to Nepal accounts about 90% of its total.

Nepal and China have held a total of 13 Business Cooperation Seminars since 1990 when Tibet and Nepal signed a memorandum aiming to strengthen bilateral economic relations.

Take the 13th seminar held in Katmandu in Nov. 2011 for example, the bilateral trade volume reached 493,000 yuan, with another 12 import and export contracts totaling 100 million US.

"China is a friendly neighbor and worthy trade partner. We still have great potential in expanding bilateral trade", said Prasad, representative of Nepal for 3rd meeting.
