People around the world have their Tibet tour in recent time for the comfortable climate .So it's time for peak tourist season in Tibet so that transportation demand have enlarged. traditional holiday and the coming school vacation have caused tickets to Tibet in great demand, said an industry insider.
According to a staff from Air China, one of the biggest airline companies in China, the coming school vacation, the traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival holiday and flocking tourists together contributed to the shortage of air tickets to Tibet, leaving no discounted ticket available.
The short supply of air-tickets made more tourists turn to railways. Lhasa had received more than 3,000 and saw off 2,800 passengers, according to China's Ministry of Railways.
The passengers received by Qinghai-Tibet Railway Co. increased the most, up 17.4 percent from the same period last year.
Return tickets were also in great demand. A couple from Beijing said they have to bypass to Nepal as air tickets from Lhasa to Beijing were sold out.
Train K9811/2 from Xining, capital of northwest China's Qinghai Province to Lhasa will be reopened to relieve the current situation. Tickets of train leaving on September 10 can be booked from June 24 so as to guarantee students' returning trip to school, which lasts from late August to the early September.
