Lhasa Shigatse Railway is Under Construction
Lhasa-Shigatse Railway is under construction now. This railway is a prolongation of Qinghai-Tibet railway extending from Lhasa to Shigatse, Tibet Autonomous Region. This project was started on September 26, 2010, and will be completed in 2015. It is a magnificent feat on this plateau right after the miracle of Qinghai-Tibet railway. The whole distance is 253km, with a total investment up to 10.8 billion Yuan RMB. Trains will run on the Lhasa-Shigatse Railway at a speed not less than 120km/h. In this case, travelling in Tibet will be more convenient, which will bring more tourists to Shigatse, Tibet.
