The Unconventional Tibetan Wedding Photos Became an Instant Hit on the Internet

A newly-wed Tibetan couple would never expect that their wedding photos posted on Wechat could become be an instant hit on the internet. Shortly after the post, the stylish and unconventional wedding photos have generated over one hundred thousand pageviews and have been reposted continuously by other social media in the cyber world.

This series of seemingly deviant wedding photos, named ‘the wedding photo story of Keyrong Phuntso & Dawa Dolma , feature a stark contrast between worshipping couple in Lhasa , typical Tibetan pasture life on the plateau and modern urban elites travelling in Chengdu and abroad.

"The city life itself is abundant and exhilarating. Yet, behind all these glorious surface lies the sense of bewilderment and loss. What we want to express is that never forget your inner calling and the importance of the continuity of traditional Tibetan culture and life.” Keyrong Phuntso said.
