This 17-day Kailash Manasarovar full moon tour and Guge Kingdom exploration is especially designed and exclusively owned by Tibet Vista. Tourists can tour the holy Mt. Kailash and sacred Lake Manasarovar on full moon dates, bringing ultimate experience to you. Throughout the tour, tourists will be amazed by the pervasive religious atmosphere and exotic culture and architecture. In addition, the lofty snow-capped mountains, boundless western Tibet, and countless stunning alpine lakes, etc. will refresh your understanding of mysterious Tibet.
The tour begins with must-see attractions like Potala Palace, and Jokhang Monastery, etc. in Lhasa. After that, the group will move westward to Ngari prefecture to visit sacred Lake Manasarovar and explore lost civilization of Guge Kindom , and do the kora around holy Mt. Kailash, taken as the world’s center to people of many religions. Then tourists will move back to Tingri to visit Everest Base Camp(5200m) and Rongbuk Monastery and later the tour will end with a visit of Pelkor Chode and Kumbum stupa in Gyantse, and Yamdrok Lake.

Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Lhasa Arrival
When you arrive in Lhasa either by train or flight, your guide will greet you and take you to your hotel. Tourists may view the Yarlung Tsangpo River/ Bhamaputra river (the Longest and largest river in Tibet) and Lhasa river on their way to Lhasa.
After arriving in Lhasa, you can take a rest and get acclimatized to high altitude. If you feel to go out, then you can go to the Potala Square, where you will enjoy the fountain with different colors and get amazing photos of the Potala and around.
Insider Tips:
For the new-comers of Tibet, to get acclimatized to the high altitude in Tibet. Having a good sleep in your hotel is a good option. Don not rush to visit attractions inside Lhasa city.

Day 2: Lhasa Tour - Potala Palace, Johkang Temple, and Barkhor Street (B, D)
Today's tour will first bring you to the Potala Palace which is the winter palace of the Dalai lama. It was put to use since the 7th Century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.
Then after lunch, tourists head to Jokhang temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Outside, you can see pilgrims making prostrating in front of Jokhang Temple. Around the temple is Barkhor street, where you can do kora (a religious circle of a building or mountain) with pilgrims and locals, and explore the old market.
Besides, We can taste Tibetan tea with locals in tea house; The welcome dinner will also be arranged accordingly;
Optional:
With time permitting, you may go with tour guide to visit Tibetan handicraft art or Tibetan Traditional Medicine center. You can upgrade your service to enjoy Tibetan Culture Show in the evening (fr. 60USD)

Day 3: Lhasa Tour - Drepung and Sera Monastery
In the morning ,you are going to visit Drepung monastery which is one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet, founded in 1416 by Jamyang choge, one of the Tsongkhapa’s main disciples. You can visit biggest monastery kitchen inside the monastery and enjoy Buddhist Sculpture Carving workshop near Drepung.
In the Afternoon, Tourists will visit Sera Monastery which is another one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet. The hot attraction is the Monks debate at around 3 - 5 in the afternoon. In addition, you can tour the Tibetan religious scripture printing house; inside the monastery, you can see three sand Mandalas and colorful Rock Painting of Buddha.

Day 4: Lhasa- Shigatse via Gyantse (360km)
In the morning, drive from Lhasa to Shigatse .On the way, drive over the Gampala pass (4790 m), and you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso (4400m) .The Lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and in the distance you can have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, (7191m) the highest mountain near Lhasa .
Later, we will pass and enjoy the Korola Glacier on the roadside; At Manak Dam Lake, you can hang pray flag at Simila Mountain Pass; Then, we will arrive in Gyantse, historically Tibet's third largest city (after Lhasa and Shigatse).In Gyantse, we will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum and enjoy the Far view of Gyangtse Fortress.
After one and a half driving, we arrive in Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet. In Shigatse, we may visit traditional Barley Mill and view the landscape of Barley Field (in summer).

Day 5: Shigatse - Tashilunpo - Saga (4500 m)
Day 6: The Saga – Lake Manasarovar (4557 m)
Day 7: Manasarovar – Zanda valley (3500 m.) (Guge Kingdom)
In the morning, bathe in the waters of Lake Manasarovar, visiting the Monastery Chiu. Then move to the Zanda Valley.

Day 8: Toling - Guge - Tsabrang (Sand) 3500m
All day excursions to the sights of the Zanda Valley. First, a visit to the monastery complex Toling. A few kilometers away are the ruins of Toling existed before the 17th century Tsabrang city (capital of the Principality of Guge), located on a beautiful hillside. This is the famous cave city Duchy Guge, where monasteries destroyed frescoes of early Buddhist art.

Day 9: Transfer to Darchen 4600m
After breakfast drive to Darchen. Have a good rest and prepare for the Kailash Kora.

Day 10: The first day of the Kora (4920 m)
Trek to the monastery Dirapuk (4910 m) 20 km, about 6-7 hours of walking.

Day 11: The second day of the Kora (5600 - 4800 m)
It is the most difficult day of the kora, it is the culmination of the day's crust around Kailash as you cross the pass Dromla-La (5600 m). You can visit the monastery.

Day 12: Third day of the Kora (4550 m) – Paryang
The final day of the Kora - "final straight" road goes downhill, return to Darchen, lunch. Then move to Paryang.

Day 13: Paryang - Tingri
In the morning, a long drive back to Tingri.

Day 14: Tingri: Everest Base Camp and Rongbuk Monastery
After breakfast, drive to the Rongbuk Monastery. Then commit trekking at the foot of the highest mountain in the world - Mount Everest (5200 m., About 2 hours one way), past the ruins of the monastery Rong Chung and past the monastery Sherab Cheling. Also, you will see the Everest Base Camp, used by Everest climbers as the headquarters for climbing Mt. Everst. Return to the Rongbuk Monastery.
Stay overnight in the guest house.
Day 15: Ronbuk - Shigatse
In the morning, get transferred to city of Shigatse and have a rest.
Stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 16: Shigatse - Qushui - Lhasa
Follow the G318 National Highway all the way back to Lhasa; It's gonna be a long drive. So you may prepare some snacks or download your favorite music in your smartphone for the long scenic ride.

Day 17: Lhasa:End of tour

Shuttle Service between hotels and Airport/Train Station:
As for Lhasa Gongar airport is 70km from the downtown, it is hard for us to arrange free shuttle service at any given time.
So, Tibet Vista can only offer free shuttle service to pick up/drop off tourists between hotels and Gongga airport twice a day at a designated time. Some of the tourists may have to wait for others for a longtime beyond our designated time, and we advise our clients could book the flights to match our shuttle service time.
The free airport pick-up time is as follows on the day the itinerary begins (From airport to hotel, Fixed departure):

The free airport drop time is as follows on the day the itinerary closes (From hotel to airport, Fixed departure):
