This 4-day classic Lhasa to Everest Base Camp tour is tailored for tourists eager to visit the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest, with a tight schedule.
Skipping the visit to the landmarks of Lhasa City, like Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, etc., you’ll travel along G318 National Highway directly to Everest Base Camp and make brief stops at the turquoise Yamdroktso Lake, Pelkor Monastery, Gyantse Kumbum, and Tashilhunpo Monastery.
Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Lhasa (3650m) to Shigatse (3900m) via Gyantse (B)
Today, we will drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. On the way, passing over the Gampala Pass (4790m), you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso (4400m) .The Lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and in the distance, you have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191m), the highest mountain near Lhasa. Later, we will pass and enjoy the Karola Glacier on the roadside. At Manak Dam Lake, you can hang pray flag at Simila Mountain Pass.
Gyantse was historically known as the Tibet's third largest city (after Lhasa and Shigatse). In Gyantse, we will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Nepali-style Kumbum Stupa. After one and a half hour's driving, we arrive in Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet. In Shigatse, we may visit traditional Barley Mill and view the landscape of Barley Field (in summer).
Stay overnight in Shigatse.

Day 2: Shigatse (3900m) to Everest Base Camp (5200m) (B)
In the morning, we will visit the home of Panchan Lama - Tashilunpo Monastery. Then,we’ll leave Shigatse after getting your Alien’s travel permit, and then drive to Lhatse, it is a small town where you can have lunch.
After that, we will pass Tsola Pass (4600m), and Gyatsola Pass (5248m).Shortly after we enter Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve,tourists can enjoy the panorama of Himalaya at Gawula Pass (5198m).Then we drive along the New zigzag road to Everest Base Camp (5200m).You can get closer to gaze at the Mt. Everest peak.The sunset of golden Everest peak if time and weather permit at the lodging area.
Stay overnight at tent or Rongbuk monastery guest house.

Day 3: Everest Base Camp (5200m) return to Shigatse (3900m)
In the morning,you can see the sunrise over the top of Mt Everest, and have a full view of the magnificent Mt. Everest standing like a snow-capped pyramid in front of you at Rongpuk, which is the vantage point for watching Mt. Everest. You can visit Rongphu Monastery which is the highest monastery in the world (5000m) and belongs to Nyingma sect. After that drive back to Shigatse
Stay overnight in Shigatse.

Day 4: Shigatse (3900m) to Lhasa (3650m) (B)
Today, we are supposed to back to Lhasa on the Friendship Highway. The whole distance is almost 280km and it takes 6 hours along the Yarlung Tsangpo River / Bhamaputra River (the longest and largest river in Tibet).
Stay overnight in Lhasa.
