A Yoga Trip to Tibet, Revitalize Your Body and Soul
Latest Update: July,07 2023
Under the purest sky and brilliant sunshine, Tibet, immersed in devout religious atmosphere, must be the top destination for you to find the peace of mind. The lofty snow-mountains, vast pastures, surging rivers, turquoise lakes, fluttering prayer flags, numerous Mani stones, sincere pilgrims, majestic Potala Palace, solemn Everest Summit, etc. would make you calm down and listen to your inner voice. Escaping from the hustle and bustle of modern life, you can reach a harmony among the body, mind and spirit in the yoga trip to Tibet.
On August, a group of Yoga masters have come to the land of snows and started their spiritual journey to the holy Lake Namtso and Everest Base Camp. And our Tibetan tour guide Keldor has helped to record their memorable moments in Tibet:
Potala Palace
As the landmark of Tibet, no one should miss out Potala Palace in the Tibet tour. Situated on the Red Hill, Potala Palace is not only a splendid winter palace for the Dalai Lamas but also a treasure house of Tibetan culture and art. Climbing up the long stone stairs, you can catch a panoramic view of Lhasa city and breathtaking plateau scenery.
Drepung Monastery
Situated at the foot of Mount Gambo Utse, Drepung Monastery is the most important monastery in Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The most interesting thing here is that the giant Thangka Buddha Paintings were exhibited during Shoton Festival every year.
Yamdrok Lake and Manla Reservoir
With plenty of sunshine and rainfall, the grass are flourishing and the hills become greener in August. Our clients were practicing yoga with their partners at the shore of the turquoise Yamdrok Lake. And then they had a short trek around Manla Reservoir and Mountain Simila.
Sakya County to Everest Base Camp
On the way to EBC, our Tibetan tour guide took the group to visit Sakya County. The kind Cherie Wong and her family have prepared some gifts for the local Tibetan kids, like notebooks, pencils and candies, etc.
Everest Base Camp
Leaving Sakya County, we moved towards the Everest Base Camp to appreciate the highest peak in the world - Mount Everest(8843.44m). Here we spent the night at the cozy tent guesthouse and enjoy the spectacular galaxy at mid-night.
Namtso Lake
Doing Yoga at the shore of the holy Lake Namtso must be an unparallel experience in your entire life. Namtso Lake is the largest lake in Tibet and it’s also the prefect habitat for wild animal and migrant birds. You can also pay some money to the local for having photos with yaks as you like.
