Embrace Rosy Peach Blossoms in Nyingchi Spring

2018 Nyingchi Peach Blossom Festival will start from March 29th to April 20th. And the best time to enjoy the rosy peach flowers is March 15th to April 20th. Travelling around Nyingchi, you’ll encounter the whites and pinks scattering everywhere, like National Highway G318, Bome, Ranwu Lake, Niyang River, etc. But where is the best place to go? Galacun in Nyingchi County

Situated along 318 National Road, Galacun in Zhenbacun, Nyingchi, 17 kilometers away from Bayi Town, is the best place to enjoy the pinky peach blossoms. Setting against the backdrop of stepped green wheat fields, rows of blooming flowers make the entire hillside dazzling and fascinating. Wandering round Galacun, you can capture the picturesque scenery of the snow-capped mountains, alpine meadows, roaring rivers and lovely flowers, etc. The blooming period starts from mid-March to early April and lasts for about 25 days.

Bome County and Surroundings

Similar to Nyingchi County, Bome County also has become a pinky sea in March. Clusters of peach blossoms flourish in the snow mountains, river valley and tranquil village, especially along the east bank of the Yarlung Tsangpo River. Bome’s peach flower is prominently larger than those of other places in Nyingchi. You can also find that various kinds of wild peach trees thrive all over the mountains and plains. Here the flowers start to bloom earlier, spanning from early March to early April. Tourists can catch the best at mid-to-late March.

Runacun

Travelling from Bome county town to Runacun, you’ll embrace the pretty peach flowers spreading along the road and colorful Tibetan prayer flags fluttering in the spring breeze. The villages on both river banks are submerged in the sea of flowers. The best time to visit Runacun is the late March to early April. If you miss this period, the best scenery will be fading away.

Qingduocun

It’s highly recommended to visit Qingduocun, an undisturbed village hidden in Bome with fewer tourists. Compared with Nyingchi, the flowers here are larger in size and darker in color. Thousands of wild peach trees sprout here and there. When spring comes, peach flowers come into bud and Qingduocun becomes a fascinating pink island full of vitality. Due to the poor transportation, Qingduocun is isolated from the outside and reputed as the “worldly paradise”. You can hike to the higher slopes to get a stunning panoramic view of peach blossoms and Qingduo Temple.

Yarlung Zangbo River Banks

Traveling from Bayi Town to Yarlung Zangbo River Grand Canyon, you’ll catch a glimpse of the graceful peach flowers nestling in the villages. And the entrance to Yarlung Zangbo River Grand Canyon is the best place to appreciate the fantastic peach blossoms around Mount Namjagbarwa. Under the clear blue sky and floating white clouds, snow on the mountain peaks has not yet melted in March and wild peach blossoms densely thrive along the riverside, making you feel like being in a fairyland.

Suosongcun and Mount Namjagbarwa

Located in the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon area, Suosongcun has become the top choice for photographers to take gorgeous shots of Mount Namjagbarwa, Brahmaputra River Grand Canyon, and patches of beautiful peach blossoms. One thing you shouldn’t miss is the magic peach tree growing in the crack of the huge rock. Tourists will enjoy a visual feast of prosperous peach flowers, turquoise river and majestic snow mountains. Chances are that you’ll see the stunning sunset over Mount Namjagbarwa.
