Discover Tibet's Wonders: Lhasa, Everest Base Camp, and Namtso Lake Tour Review
Latest Update: June,18 2024
10 Days Lhasa to EBC and Namtso Lake Group Tour is one of the best-selling itineraries of all time. Throughout the 10-day journey, tourists will be able to travel from two (i.e. Lhasa and Shigatse) of the biggest and most important cities in Tibet and visit two of three most prestigious sacred lakes ( Yamdrok, and Namtso). In addition, the 10 days exploration will bring tourists to enjoy the imposing view of Mt. Everest (8844.43m) up-close at Everest Base Camp. What tourists get is a panoramic picture of distinct Tibetan Buddhism, alpine natural wonders and exotic Tibetan customs. Let’s share the travel story of 10th group of May with Tibet Vista.
Greet Distinguished Guest at Lhasa Gonggar Airport
“Yeah, Safely touch down on this holy land!”
As a fine tradition, our guide will greet newly-arrived tourists at Lhasa Gonggar Airport (around 62km to the south of Lhasa city) or Lhasa Railway Station ( 1km to the south of Lhasa River). Hada, a white ceremony scarf to show hospitality and welcome, will be presented to our dear guests. Shortly after their arrival, a free welcome dinner is expected to offer to our clients.
Enjoy the View of Old City of Lhasa from the Rooftop of Jokhang Temple
“Felt deeply impressed by the palpable religious devotion”
As the spiritual heart of Lhasa, Jokhang temple is the best place to experience the fervent religious pilgrimage around Barkhor Street and witness the pilgrim’s prostration ritual. Inside the Jokhang Temple are sacred statues of the "8-year-old boy Buddha" and of the "Sakyamuni Buddha".
Climb to the Top of Similha Mountain Pass (4330m)
Similha Mountain Pass is one of the iconic places before reaching Yamdrok Lake where tourists can climb to its top and enjoy a superb view of Manla Reservoir and fluttering prayer flags. If you want, you can buy a scroll of prayer flags and hang them to the mountaintop, which Tibetans believe that it will bring you good fortune and peace.
Get Amazed at the Sublime Yamdrok Lake
Compared with Namtso and Manasarovar Lake, Yamdrok Lake is the closest holy lake to Lhasa City ( about 3 hours drive). The best place to enjoy the stunning view of Yamdrok lake is to reach the Ganbala Pass where you can see the turquoise Yamdrok Lake embedded in the deep valley against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains.
Gaze at the Himalayan Range at Gawu La Pass (5250m)
Located between Shegar and Rongbuk, Gawu La Pass is the one of the best places to enjoy the vista of Himalayan Range. You can see the top 5 highest mountains in Himalayan Range. Surrounded by endless mountainous ranges, you will be blown away by the grandeur of natural wonders on the plateau.
Enjoy the Lunch with Local Tibetans in Shigatse
To be able to interact with locals and local community is essential to Tibet Vista’s Tour. If time permits, tourists will be organized to visit locals’ family or join their farm work, etc. In this way, our tourists can have first-hand experience of the real life of Tibetans and benefit their community.
Made it to Everest Base Camp (5200m)
“It was undeniably an ultimate experience, a lifetime treasured memory.”
To most travelers, being able to stand at the food of world’s summit is a lifetime experience. Tourists can observe the shimmering light over the pinnacle of Mt. Everest at dawn so up-close. Besides, spending the night at EBC’s cozy tents is also worth a try.
