• 1. How to get a Tibet Permit when traveling to Lhasa from Chongqing?

  Once you book your Tibet tour with us, simply provide the scanned copies of your passport and Chinese Visa, and we will apply for the permit on your behalf.

  After the permit is issued, we will deliver your Tibet Permit to your hotel in Chongqing by express, generally 1-7 days prior to your departure for Lhasa. In some extreme cases, our local staff in Chongqing will deliver it to your hand before departure at the airport or railway station.

• 2. How to get to Lhasa from Chongqing by train?

  The train Z223 runs from Chongqing to Lhasa every other day, while the Train Z224 runs vice versa. It takes around 34 hours to complete this 3,654-kilometer journey by train. You will spend two nights onboard the train to Tibet from Chongqing.

  The Chongqing to Lhasa train takes you from the upper reaches of the Yangtse River Cruise, passes through the Chengdu Plain, crosses the Sichuan Basin, crosses the Qinling Mountains, passes by Xining, and finally reaches the Holy city Lhasa on the majestic Tibet Plateau.

• 3. How to get to Lhasa from Chongqing by Flight?

  Currently, there are more than 10 airlines running flights from Chongqing to Lhasa every day. It takes around 2 hrs 50 minutes to fly from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport to Lhasa Gonggar Airport.

  After the short flight journey from Chongqing, you will arrive at Lhasa at an elevation of 3,658 meters. Since downtown Chongqing is only at an altitude of around 400 meters, you need to pay attention to the huge altitude rising for such a short time.

  Please do not rush to visit attractions upon arrival in Lhasa. You need to take a good rest at your hotel and leave enough time for your body to acclimatize to the high altitude in Tibet.

  The train from Chongqing to Lhasa also runs for a relatively short time. For tourists who miss the train from Chengdu to Lhasa, you can get to Chongqing first by bullet train, and then head to Tibet.
