South of Mt. Kailash there is a small village called Darchen which is a wonderful place for tourists and pilgrims to refresh themselves. But in this remote place, only guesthouses are available. The best accommodation in this village should be Gangdise Guesthouse with good location and its own generator. Besides, tourists can take tents with them.

Under the foot of the holy Mountain Kailash, there are several mud-brick buildings beside a small bus stop, with a visible signboard named "Chengdu Grand Hotel", with the simplest services in the world.
