Now, it’s near May and it’s the best time to travel to Everest Base Camp again. Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world. And its climate and temperature are both quite different from those of other places. So you should pay special attention to the clothing for Everest Base Camp (EBC) Tour.
One thing you should know is that the best time to travel to EBC is from April to October, during this time, the climate is better and the temperature is relatively higher than that in winter. However, even when you travel to EBC and the area around it in summer, it can be very cold, especially at night. So, you should take proper clothes when you travel to EBC. Though the clothing depends largely on your tolerance of the cold and the time you travel to EBC, there are certain clothes you are suggested to take along with you when you travel to EBC.

If you travel to EBC in summer from May to October, you are suggested to take a woolen jumper plus a warm jacket. A windbreaker is also good. If you are pretty vulnerable to cold, you may take a down jacket as well. While, if you travel to EBC during winter from November to April, you’d better take some fleece sweaters and warm down jackets (the jacket must have a hood) as well as down-filled sleeping bags, for even inside the guesthouses near EBC it can be very cold with a temperature being below freezing in the morning and at night. Besides, no matter during what time you travel to EBC, you may need to take you some quick drying long sleeved base layer shirts. In summer during the daytime, with the strong solar radiation, it can be hot and you may sweat easily if you trek around EBC. Thermal underwear is also necessary. As for the pants, they are better to be synthetic insulated pants being light in weight but warm and comfortable with zip off bottoms. And both your jackets and pants should be waterproof and breathable.

One more thing you should know is that woolen socks are needed and you should change them every day if you do trekking around EBC, for your feet can be very cold and even damaged by cold if your socks are wet by sweats.
