Kind HK Clients Brought Special Gifts for Lovely Tibetan Kids

People came to Tibet for different reasons. Some look for epic mountain vista of Himalayas; others are keen to have spiritual journey and still others show their great care and love for this holy land.

Cherie Wong, a lovey HK lady travelling with her family, certainly fits the third category. And far before travelling to Tibet, she decided to bring some special gifts to Tibetan kids in poverty-stricken areas in Tibet.

On the way from Sakya County to EBC, our Tibetan guide Keldor took the team to visit the poor villages in Sakya. When Cherie and her family meet the adorable Tibetan kids, they happily shared the stationery like pencil, pen, and note books and school bags and tasty candies for small kids.

Cherie’s mother was also giving the colorful notebooks to the small kids.

Kids were receiving the gifts from Cherie’s family.

When asked, “Where did you get these gifts”, Cherie relied “Well, I bought it in Shanghai as I was preparing for long-expected Tibet tour.”“Our family and I loved small kids in remote villages in Tibet. We had seen people giving them gifts on TV, and wanted to have a try ourselves.” “The innocence of villagers might fade away due to urbanization. To give them money actually harmed them in certain ways. Money couldn’t buy real happiness.” She added.

Cherie and her family took photos with the locals Tibetans in the village. They had a great time before heading towards Everest Base Camp from Sakya.

Besides the charitable deeds, Cherie was also a great Yoga Master and loved nature and life. She and her family had a lifetime experience from Lhasa to Namtso, Shannan, and Shigatse, and EBC. The following photos were some of fleeting moments in Tibet.
