Overview
11-day Tibet tour starts from Xining, historically the most important overland gateway to western China. Tourists can visit the eminent Tibetan monastery and witness the multiple ethnic cultures and customs in Xining, with the highlight of touring Qinghai Lake. Then, you can experience the unparalleled ride on world’s highest train, i.e. Qinghai-Tibet railway. While in Tibet, you will be able to fully explore the prestigious Tibetan monasteries in Lhasa, Gyantse, and Shigatse and enjoy the majestic Himalayan Ranges in Tringri, particularly closely observe Mt. Everest at Everest Base Camp. The tour will in Sino-Nepal border, via which you are well on your way to visit Kathmandu Valley.

Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Xining
After our clients arrive in in Xining airport or railway station, the guide will be greeting you and later get you transferred to your hotel. The rest of the time is at leisure. You can have a good rest or walk around in the city.

Day 2: Xining City Tour: Ta’er Monastery & Museum of Tibetan Medicine Culture, Mo Street
In the morning, we are about to visit Ta’er Monastery, one of the must-see religious sites in Xining. Located 25km to the northeast of Xining City, Ta’er Monastery is also called “Kumbum Monastery”. It’s one of the major Gelugpa monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism and the birthplace of Tsongkhapa, well-known Tibetan Buddhist master. You can see many devoted Tibetan pilgrims doing full-body prostration to the Buddha, magnificent Buddhist hall and exquisite murals and Tibetan butter flowers, etc.
If you are interested in legendary Tibetan culture, especially the mysterious Tibetan medicine and Tibetan handiworks, Museum of Tibetan Medicine Culture is where you shall be. The highlight of this museum is the world’s biggest Thangka featuring development of Tibetan medicine. Besides Tibetan medicine, the museum gives a vivid display of Tibetan calligraphy, costumes and astrology and Tibetan Buddhism history. Overall, it’s a great orientation before officially entering Tibet.
After the day tour, in the evening we will enjoy the finger-licking local snacks in Mo Street, the well-known gourmet street in Xining. Local delicacies like boiled mutton, lamb soup, noodles with chicken shreds and sesame, Muslim Yogurt, etc.

Day 3: Day Tour in Qinghai Lake
In the morning, drive about 2.5 hours from Xining to Qinghai Lake, China's largest inland salt water lake. The ellipse-shaped lake looks like a huge poplar leaf sitting on the alpine prairie. Scenery in Qinghai lake varies according to seasons. Summer and autumn have the most comfortable weather conditions and the lake's scenery is most beautiful during these seasons. The most charming and attractive place in Qinghai Lake is the Bird Island. It situates on the western shore of the Lake. Cruising for about 30 minutes is a popular way to appreciate the lake. On the way to this charming lake, you can get a view of Riyuemountain. After the tour is done, we will head back to the city of Xining.

Day 4: Board the Overnight Train to Lhasa
Day 5: Arrive in Lhasa and get acclimatized to the plateau
When you arrive in Lhasa either by train or flight, your guide will greet you and take you to your hotel. Tourists may view the Yarlung Tsangpo River/ Bhamaputra river (the Longest and largest river in Tibet) and Lhasa river on their way to Lhasa. After arriving in Lhasa, you can take a rest and get acclimatized to high altitude. If you feel to go out, then you can go to the Potala Square, where you will enjoy the fountain with different colors and get amazing photos of the Potala and around.

Day 6: Lhasa Tour - Potala Palace, Johkang Temple and Barkhor Street
Today's tour will first bring you to the Potala Palace which is the winter palace of the Dalai lama. It was put to use since the 7th Century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.
Then after lunch, tourists head to Jokhang Temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century, in order to promote the Buddhist religion. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve, perhaps the only most venerated object in Tibetan Buddhism. Around the temple is Barkhor Street where you can do kora (a religious circle of a building or mountain) with pilgrims and locals, in the meantime you can buy souvenirs.

Day 7: Lhasa Tour - Drepung and Sera Monastery
In the morning ,you are going to visit Drepung Monastery which is one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet, founded in 1416 by Jamyangchoge, one of the Tsongkhapa’s main disciples. Ganden palace used to be Dalai lama’s palace in the Drepung before he moved to the Potala palace.
In the Afternoon, Tourists will visit Sera Monastery which is another one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet, founded in 1419 by JamchenChojey, one of the Tsongkhapa’s main disciples. The hot attraction is the Monks debate at around 3 - 5 in the afternoon.

Day 8: Lhasa (3650m) to Shigatse (3900m)
In the morning, drive from Lhasa to Shigatse .On the way, drive over the Gampala pass (4790 m), and you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso (4400m) .The Lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and in the distance you can have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, (7191m) the highest mountain near Lhasa .
Gyantse was historically Tibet's third largest city (after Lhasa and Shigatse).In Gyantse, we will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum.
After one and a half driving, we arrive in Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet. In Shigatse, we’ll visit Tashilunpo Monastery, the seat of Tibet's second highest incarnation, the Panchen Lama.

Day 9: Shigatse(3900m) to Everest(5200m) via Tingri
We’ll leave Shigatse after getting your Alien’s travel permit, and then drive to Lhatse, it is a small town where you can have lunch.
After that, you will drive to Shegar and if the weather is clear enough then on the way down to shegar you will view the Mt, Everest in the distance .
After 4 to 6 hours’ drive , then you will arrive at Rongbuk monastery but on the way , you will pass one of the highest Passes in Tibet (pang la pass height 5050m) from that’s pass you will view the whole five highest peaks in the world.
Stay overnight at tent or Rongbuk monastery guest house.
Day 10: Everest (5200m) to Old Tingri (4300m)
In the morning, you can see the sun rise on the top of Mt Everest and have a full view the magnificent Mt. Everest standing like a snow-capped pyramid in front of you at Rongpuk, which is the vantage point for watching Mt. Everest. After that, you can visit Rongphu Monastery which is the highest monastery in the world (5000m) and then drive to Old Tingri where you can enjoy the beauty of whole Himalaya range.

Day 11: Old Tingri(4300m) to Kathmandu via Gyirong Port
In the early morning, we will drive to border - Gyirong Port. On the way to Gyirong Port, you will pass a Nyalam Tong pass(5,150) where the Friendship Highway connects Kathmandu, Nepal and Lhasa, Tibet crosses at meters elevation.
The road to Gyirong Port is not bad but the altitude and the atmosphere is rapidly changing in front of your eyes. In the afternoon, you will arrive in border - Gyirong Port , and move to Kathmandu.
Our Guide will drop you off at the border bridge.
