If Xiamen is a city of beaches, seaside hip cafes, lush gardens, and leisure resorts, situated on the other side of the country is Tibet, on top of the world, filled with lakes, monasteries, silver mountains, clear blue skies, colourful prayer flags, and yaks.

 Everest Mount Everest in Tibet

Xiamen and Tibet are two contrasting regions, both beautiful in its own way. If land meets sea in Xiamen, water meets heaven in Tibet. 2) Guangzhou to Tibet:

Travelling to Tibet by train is one of the most popular means of transport. Thanks to the amazing views the travellers encounter throughout the journey. The railway line to Tibet, the Qinghai-Tibet railway, is the highest railway line in the world. Even though the journey is long and in a very high altitude, the travellers overcome all that just to look at the amazing views.

Train no. From To Dep./ Arr. Distance Duration Seater Hard Sleeper Soft Sleeper

The best way to travel in this route is by taking a flight to Xian and then the train to Tibet. The train to Tibet is also a time consuming journey, but it worth every second and every penny spent. Some of the sceneries you will come across are the Qarhan Salt Lake, Jinyintan Prairie, Qinghai Lake, Kunlun Mountains, Tanggula Mountains, and a lot more eye treats. Every part of the journey is picture worthy and the sceneries simply take your breath away.

Make sure you consult your doctor before taking this trip as there will be a lot of altitude change. So most of the travellers are prone to altitude sickness, it is really important to have doctor prescribed medicines. It is better to by small oxygen tanks from stores before setting off travelling in the train to Tibet. They are available on the train, but it never hurts to have some extra.

Even though there is food provided on the train, you can buy some snacks and cup noodles before you start your journey in case you don’t like the menu on the train. The food is also little expensive on the train.

These are some of the suggested ways to get to Tibet from Xiamen. Choosing a flight saves time and choosing a bus or train saves money. You can choose the route you want depending on what you want to save.

Of course, before you either take Tibet train or flights to Lhasa. You have to get your Tibet Travel Permit or China Tibet Visa. And our travel consultants can help you sort that out after you book our Tibet tour.
