  • Do I need a special permit to a Tibet tour?

    Yes, overseas tourists and travelers from Taiwan need to apply for the Tibet Travel Permit for entering and traveling around the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

    The Tibet Travel Permit can only be applied through a local travel agency, which provides the tour guide, the tourist vehicle, and other local tour services to you.

    No ‘Permit Only’ service is available. This means you need to book a Tibet tour, either join a small group tour in Tibet or tailor a private trip, to obtain the Tibet Permit through your travel agency.

    The Chinese visa should be applied for by yourself through a Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your home country. Once you receive the visa, please scan it and email us copies of your Chinese Visa and your passport, for the Tibet Travel Permit application.

If you plan to visit Tibet with a passport from one of these countries, you only need to provide a copy of your passport (no Chinese Visa is required) for the application of your Tibet Travel Permit.
