Is there an age limit for the elderly to visit Tibet?

Well, there is no such an official age limit for the elderly visiting Tibet. So far, some of the oldest clients we have received are 84-year-old American lady who visited EBC with her daughter who was at the age of 60, and another German client who made it both to EBC and Mt.Kailash at the age of 82.

Though they are the exceptional cases, it proves that so long you are physically fit and have the spirit for travel and adventure, you can make it to Tibet, with our senior-friendly services.

Are tourist facilities senior-friendly in Tibet?

Admittedly, the hotels and infrastructures have been greatly improved in Tibet in recent years. In Lhasa, Shigatse, and Nyingchi, there are enough paths and parks for the seniors to walk, and restrooms are much easier to be found in downtown. In Lhasa, some of the best hospitals are available for emergent diagnosis and treatment.

If you travel beyond Lhasa, esp. to the remote western areas or places with high altitudes like EBC or Lake Namtso and Mt.Kailash, the facilities remain very basic. The local guesthouse and pit toilet are the common scene.

Which elderly people are not suitable for Tibet tour?
