With a good location in the center of town and near the bus station, Tenzin Hotel is popular with tourists at home and abroad as a budget one. You can go shopping just opposite the hotel, and it is very convenient. This is a friendly and busy hotel, providing dorm beds and standard double rooms, some with attached bathrooms and great views of the Tashilhunpo Monastery. There is only one toilet here and two erratic showers. Hot water is supplied 24 hours a day, but is not that reliable.
The Tenzin Restaurant on the ground floor is one of the better restaurants in town, providing a wide range of food and delicious Sichuan cuisine. There is a pleasant veranda here too, an excellent place to rest with a cold beer and to bask in the sun.
