The Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is Lhasa’s most iconic landmark. Once the Dalai Lama’s winter residence, it offers stunning views and a deep dive into Tibet’s history. With its impressive architecture and rich cultural heritage, a visit to the Potala Palace is a must for any traveler to Tibet.
Tips: The best spots for capturing photos of the Potala Palace are Potala Palace Square, the stairs of Chokpori, and Longwangtan Park, located behind the palace.
Moments at Jokhang Temple: A Timeless Sanctuary for Pilgrims and Travelers
Jokhang Temple, located in the heart of Lhasa and surrounded by the famous Barkhor street, is Tibet’s most sacred site and a must-visit for any tourists. Revered by Buddhists worldwide, it houses the revered Jowo Rinpoche statue and attracts pilgrims from across Tibet and beyond.
Tips: The best spots for photos are at the top (second floor) of Jokhang Temple and right in front of it on Barkhor Street.

Located about 110 kilometers from Lhasa, Yamdrok, turquoise freshwater lake, is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. Known for its spiritual significance in Tibetan Buddhism, Yamdrok Lake is a place of deep cultural reverence and natural beauty.
Tips: The top two spots for photos with Yamdrok Lake are at Gampala Pass, where you can capture a full panoramic view of the lake, and along the lake’s shore, where you can get closer to its clear blue waters.
Moments at Mount Everest: Smiles, Sunshine and the Peak of the World
Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak at 8,848 meters. Located in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and Tibet, Everest offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and rugged landscapes. For travelers, it’s not just a place of natural beauty, but also a symbol of human determination and exploration.
Tips: Winter is an ideal time to visit Mount Everest, offering clearer skies than other seasons. The top three photo spots are: Gawula Pass, where you can see the five highest peaks in the Himalayas, including Everest; Rongbuk Monastery, offering close-up views of the mountain; and the monuments in front of Everest for a stunning perspective.
Moments at Mount Kailash: Tibet's Holiest Peak and Its Most Devoted Pilgrims
Mount Kailash, located in western Tibet, is one of the holiest mountains in the world and a sacred destination for pilgrims of multiple religions. Rising to 6,638 meters, its pyramid-shaped peak is revered by Buddhists, Hindus, Jains, and Bonpos. For travelers, trekking around the mountain offers a unique opportunity to experience both natural beauty and the profound sense of peace.
Due to weather conditions, the Mount Kailash Tour closes at the end of November each year as heavy winter snow blocks the roads. It reopens in late April the following year. If you're planning a Mount Kailash tour in 2025, visiting during the Saga Dawa Festival (June 4th to 14th) will offer an unforgettable experience!
Moments During Trekking: Unforgettable Journeys Through Tibet’s Wild Terrain
Trekking in Tibet offers a unique adventure, blending breathtaking landscapes with rich cultural heritage. The three most popular trekking routes are the Gama Valley Trekking, Mount Kailash Trekking, and 10 days Mount Everest Trekking. Each offers a distinct experience, with the Mount Kailash trek being the most challenging and rewarding of them all.
Tips: Weather plays a crucial role for trekkers in Tibet. The ideal seasons for trekking are spring and autumn, from April to May and September to October. During these months, rainfall is minimal, and temperatures are comfortable, allowing for an enjoyable journey through Tibet's wilderness without the extremes of heat or heavy rain.
Moments of Tibet Daily Life: A Glimpse into the Soul of the Land and its People
The Tibet tours for 2024 have come to a successful close, but exciting itineraries for 2025 are just around the corner. Starting in April , the Mount Kailash tours and 10 days Namtso Lake tour will reopen, along with new small group tours in Nyingchi, including the fully updated Peach Blossom Festival tour.
