Nyingchi’s Ultimate Spring Highlight: Peach Blossoms Blooming Through the Valleys
When you think of spring in Nyingchi, one image inevitably comes to mind: the breathtaking peach blossoms that blanket the valleys. This is how our guests experienced their Nyingchi Peach blossom tour in spring. Below are the four most popular spots where our guests admire the peach blossoms.
In Bayi District, Gala Village welcomed our guests with its vast stretches of wild peach trees. As they walk through the 270-acre orchard, they marveled at the sea of pink blossoms, with the vibrant flowers peaking from March 15 to April 10.
Another place is Bome Peach Blossom Valley, China’s largest peach blossom valley. Stretching along the Parlung Zangbo River, the ancient peach trees created an extraordinary sight. Our travelers were particularly captivated by the vibrant display of blossoms from early March.
Suosong Village, in Mainling County, also offered our guests a stunning view of Namcha Barwa Peak, one of the top 7 peaks in Tibet, framed by brilliant pink peach blossoms. The peak bloom period, from late March to early April, added an ethereal beauty to this already breathtaking location.
In Gongbo’ gyamda County, guests admired the peach blossoms along the G318 National Highway, with the vibrant flowers against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains creating a picturesque scene. The peach blossoms here bloomed later due to the region’s higher altitude.
Another Spring Highlight in Nyingchi: Clear Views of Mount Namcha Barwa
For our guests visiting Nyingchi in spring, another unforgettable experience is seeing the clear views of Mount Namcha Barwa, the highest peak in eastern Tibet. Standing at 7,782 meters, this beautiful mountain is called “the most beautiful mountain in China” by China’s National Geographic magazine.
In Nyingchi, the weather can be cloudy during other seasons, so it takes a bit of luck to catch a clear view of the mountain. However, in spring, our guests are often drawn to the famous Sejila Mountain Pass (4,728 meters) between Nyingchi City and Lulang Forest, where they can enjoy one of the best views of Mount Namcha Barwa.
For those who enjoy photography, the best time to see the peak clearly is from March to April. During this time, the skies are clear, and the spring weather provides perfect conditions to admire the beauty of Mount Namcha Barwa. Guests who visited during these months were able to witness the mountain standing tall above the clouds, surrounded by the colorful landscape.
Other Attractions to Enjoy in Nyingchi During Spring: Basumtso Lake and Laigu Glacier
While Nyingchi’s peach blossoms steal the spotlight in spring, there are other incredible attractions to explore during this season. Two must-visit spots for our guests are Basumtso Lake and Laigu Glacier, both offering unique experiences and stunning natural beauty.
Basumtso Lake
Known as the “Sacred Lake of the East,” Basumtso is a beautiful, clear blue lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains and lush forests. In spring, the lake’s calm waters reflect the vibrant greenery and colorful skies, creating a perfect place for peaceful reflection or photography.
Our guests enjoy walking around the lake or taking a cruise to fully appreciate the serene atmosphere and breathtaking views. The surrounding area is also rich in Tibetan culture, with temples and monasteries adding a spiritual touch to the experience.
Laigu Glacier
For those seeking a more adventurous experience, Laigu Glacier offers a stunning display of ice and snow. Located near the Laigu village, this glacier is one of the top 5 glaciers in eastern Tibet. In spring, the snow and ice contrast beautifully with the clear blue skies.
Our guests are often amazed by the sight of the massive glacier, especially the beautiful blue ice caves, set against the backdrop of towering peaks. It’s a perfect destination for hiking, photography, and exploring the raw beauty of Tibet’s natural landscapes.
Note: In past years, we had the pleasure of guiding countless guests to admire the stunning blue ice of Laigu Glacier. Unfortunately, due to safety reasons, the glacier is no longer accessible in 2026. As a result, we’ve modified all our itineraries.
Instead of exploring Laigu Glacier, we now take our guests to Gangyun Forest, where they can enjoy a peaceful hike through the forest followed by a relaxing afternoon tea. The stunning landscapes here are equally captivating and well worth the wait. We will keep you informed, and once Laigu Glacier reopens, we’ll be sure to let you know immediately.
