Tibet Travel Reviews and Feedback in August
With mild weather (12℃ to 28℃ on average), maximum oxygen level, verdant grasslands, and vibrant Tibetan festivals, such as the Shoton Festival in Lhasa and the Horse Racing Festival in northern Tibet, August stands out as one of the peak travel seasons to visit Tibet. It draws global travelers, esp. domestic travelers seeking to escape the sauna heat from inland metropolitan cities and reconnect their souls with nature and the holy spirits of Tibet.
Besides, August brings refreshing night rains that moisten Tibet’s dry highland air, making your journey across Tibet more enjoyable. As more tourists flock to Tibet, travel costs spike, and local hotels, Tibet trains and flights to Lhasa sell out fast. So, be sure to book your Tibet tour with us early to lock in your spot!
Riding the world’s highest Qinghai-Tibet Railway to Lhasa is a top choice for many travelers, as August brings lush green grasslands dotted with grazing yaks and nomad tents, along with expansive alpine lakes to behold from the Tibet train, esp. across Qinghai and Nagchu. As you arrive in Lhasa, the classic Lhasa to Everest Base Camp tour, Lhasa to Mt. Kailash pilgrimage tour, and Lhasa to Kathmandu overland tour remain the top picks for global travelers in Aug. Alternatively, you may also explore other Tibet tours or customize one to travel at your own pace and style.
To give you a clear picture of what it's like to travel in Tibet in August, we've gathered our guests'travel photos and stories on this page. Hopefully, their inspiring journeys will help you plan your upcoming Tibet adventure with ease, based on your personal travel style, preferred destinations, and interests.
