October is one of the best times to travel to Everest Base Camp (5200m). After the rainy season from mid-June to August, tourists are more likely to enjoy the golden summit of Mt. Everest at sunset and gorgeous flag clouds over the summit. Tourists can experience the impressive pilgrimage of Tibetan pilgrims and plenty of most celebrated Tibetan monasteries in Lhasa city. And later keep moving southwestward to historic Gyantse city and all the way to Shigatse and Everest Base Camp. Let’s join the clients of the 1st EBC tour of Oct and share their fabulous tour in Tibet.

Tour Jokhang Temple, the Spiritual Heart of Tibet

Jokhang Temple

Although Potala Palace is the most iconic place in Tibet, the holiest place in Lhasa, to most of locals and Tibetan pilgrims, is the Jokhang Temple, largely because the temple was jointly built by king Songtsen Gampo and Nepali princess Bhrikuti and princess Wencheng from Tang. Besides, it is the only place where the 12-year-old Shakyamuni Buddha’s gilt bronze was enshrined. Joining the Tibetan pilgrims in the Nangkhor Kora, the pilgrimage closest to Buddha, would be a lifetime experience.

Multi-story Kumbum Stupa is the highlight of Gyantse tour. It is actually inside the religious compound of Palcho Monastery. What makes this entire place so unique is that it’s probably the only monastery that multiple religious sects coexist in a single monastery. Standing on the top floor of Kumbum Stupa gives you stunning panoramic view of Gyantse city and grand Gyantse fortress on the rugged hill afar.
