Tour Jokhang Temple, the Spiritual Heart of Tibet

Although Potala Palace is the most iconic place in Tibet, the holiest place in Lhasa, to most of locals and Tibetan pilgrims, is the Jokhang Temple, largely because the temple was jointly built by king Songtsen Gampo and Nepali princess Bhrikuti and princess Wencheng from Tang. Besides, it is the only place where the 12-year-old Shakyamuni Buddha’s gilt bronze was enshrined. Joining the Tibetan pilgrims in the Nangkhor Kora, the pilgrimage closest to Buddha, would be a lifetime experience.
