Tibet Winter Tourists Increased By 70% During Chinese Spring Festival

During 2017 Chinese Spring Festival Golden Week, the number of Tibet inbound visitors has hit a new high and touring Tibet in winter has become a new trend among western tourists. Learning from Tibet Autonomous Region Tourism Development Committee, travelers from more than 41 different countries and regions have payed a visit to Tibet in this hilarious festival. And compared with the same period last year, Tibet entry tourists have increased by 74.1% in Spring Festival 2017.

On a sunny winter afternoon, our clients were visiting the Potala Palace.

In recent years, Tibet's inbound tourism has been continuously heating up. Seeing from the official data, we find that not only does the number of entry visitors grow, the tourist source distributions have also become stable. And tourists from the European and American countries have occupied 70% of the total entry.

During Chinese Spring Festival, American models also came to Tibet to take fashion shots.

"Stepping on the soil of Tibet, I find it is more beautiful than I imagined. People here are very very friendly. When I got off the plane, our passionate tour guide have already waited outside and given me a warm welcome", John Brown from Britain said that, "I thought I would meet a lot of difficulties because of language barrier. Luckily, there is no need to worry at all."

Nowadays, the government has taken a series of policies and measures, aiming to make Tibet a world tourist destination. Gangdise International Tourism Cooperation Zone, one of the key projects in Tibet tourism, is a good case in point. Focusing on the holy Mount Kailash and the sacred Lake Manasarovar, this cooperation zone in Ngari will be a window area open to South Asia in the future.

In order to enhance the quality of tourism services, Tibet Government has officially implemented four detailed service rules since Feb.1st, 2017. It's also put forward the practical requirements on Tibet travel agencies, tour guides, star hotels and tourist transportation, marking Tibet tourism service has entered into a systematic orbit.
