Tibet is closed to foreign tourists again in June, 2012

It is very common that Tibet would be closed during sensitive period. This year, the situation in Tibet has become very tense after two Tibetans set themselves on fire in front of Jokhang temple in Lhasa on May 28, 2012. No Tibet permit was issued to foreign travelers after that day. It is even said that Tibet is closed to foreign tourists again in June 2012, just 10 days after the self-immolation in Lhasa

But there is still no official announcement about it. There is even no information about the reopen time, but will be not optimistic this year as some destabilizing things just happened and this year is an election year of China.

Tibet travel org will be tracking and updating news about it and try our best to help you tour to Tibet. We are sparing no effort to help our clients to get Tibet permits once Tibet is not offically closed to foreigners.
