Retracing the South Overland Silk Road via the Himalayas
This activity has two lines. The southern route starts from Shangri-la, Yunnan and the northern route from Nagqu, Tibet. All the media reporters and self-driving participants will take part in Tibet-Nepal Tourism Promotion and China-Nepal-India Tourism Culture Summit Forum once getting to Lhasa.
“One Belt and One Road” refers to the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road. After OBAOR put forward, retracing the south overland silk road was launched, aiming to construct "the silk road economic belt" altogether. The south silk road passing through Sichuan and Yunnan was an ancient international channel, which links China, Burma, India and extends to southeast Asia, west Asia and other European countries. Together with the northwest silk road and maritime silk road, it's also considered as the important passage for economical and cultural communication between the west and the east.
In addition, we have learned that CNY 1000 of every traveler expenses will be donated to Shigatse Gyirong Elementary School for supporting local education.
