According to the latest announcement form Tourism Bureau of Tingri county, given the upcoming snow season in Tingri county, Gama Valley leading to east slope of Mt. Everest was likely to suffer heavy snowfall and ultimately road closure. Therefore, for tourists’ safety concern the scenic area of Gama Valley was expected to be closed from Oct, 15, 2015 till mid-May, 2016. The exact time for reopening of Gama Valley would be noticed later.
