Riwoqe Monastery
People who go to Tibet travel are interested in the beautiful scenery and monastery here. Riwoqe Monastery was first built in 1277 with a history of more than 700 years. It's a monastery for Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It's also one of the oldest and largest ancient monastery in Qamdo Area.

The main building of Buddhist hall shows a square shape which is mixed the architectural style of Nepal, Tibet and Chinese Han.

The first floor is called "strip pattern hall" which is decorated by the white, red and black strip pattern on the wall. There are 64 pillars with a height of 15 meters standing in this floor. The second floor is called "the red hall" that the outer wall is printed into red. The third floor is called "the white hall" that there displayed so many precious history and culture relics. Such as the Thangka in Ming and Qing Dynasties, the silver Buddhist statues and the saddle and sabre used by the King Gesar.

Local Tibetans take the Riwoqe Monastery as a holy place. Each year there are many believers coming here to worship. Especially on June fifteenth of Tibetan year, Tibetan people will get together celebrating the "Zhingque Festival" in Riwoqe Monastry. There will hold activities like worshiping the holy mountain and trading.

As one of the handful females who see great potential of Chinese inbound tourism, Catherine has made great contribution to promoting Tibet tourism and enhancing the employment of Tibetans and prosperity of local Tibetan community.
Over the years, she travelled overseas with Tibet Tourism Bureau many times to promote Tibet tourism. Currently, Catherine works as the marketing director of Tibet Vista, an opinion leader behind the whole team of Tibet Vista.
